Stumbled upon this interesting photo on Inquirer.Net showing most of the presidential aspirants in a “walk of unity” to show to the Philippines that they will not cheat in the upcoming 2010 elections. They even signed a formal agreement, which of course is only for show. The following candidates were present: Sen. Manuel Villar, former President Joseph Estrada, and Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, Loren Legarda, Francis Pangilinan, Richard Gordon, Jamby Madrigal, Metro Manila Development Authority Chair Bayani Fernando, Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, evangelist Eduardo “Bro. Eddie” Villanueva, environmentalist Nicanor “Nikki” Perlas, and Olongapo Councilor Carlos “JC” delos Reyes. Absent during the event were administration standard bearer hopefuls Vice President Noli De Castro and Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro.
Only Makati Mayor Binay in Shorts?
Before we go into a serious discussion about this topic, let me just throw this question forward. Are they afraid of showing their legs? Hahaha! Only Makati Mayor Binay was the one game enough to actually wear shorts during the walk. All of them wore maong pants and rubber shoes (which was kinda unsightly).
According to a friends who were present during the event, only Mayor Binay also was the only candidate to actually physically run and finish the 5KM. Surprisingly, other than him it was only former President Estrada who ran for a few minutes before calling it a day. Definitely good for his endorsement for Arthro. Personally I would have loved to see all the other candidates finish even just 5KM since they were already there and that was the whole point of the “TATAKBO KA BA” event.
Good job to Mayor Binay for finishing 5KM and to former President Estrada for giving his best effort.

Help Wanted: President of the Philippines – Must be people person w/ outstanding executive experience, honest w/ nothing to be ashamed of, stands out from the crowd, wears shorts.
I’m a supporter of Mayor Binay. He is best to be the president of this country.
