Liberal Party standard bearer Senator Noynoy Aquino challenged Nacionalista’s Senator Manny Villar to a one-on-one debate. Villar already responded by saying that if the debate would focus on issues and not mudslinging, he would gladly accept. I am all for this debate! This is something that a lot of people have been clamoring for. Let’s listen to both of them and see who really has a better platform of government. It’s time to focus on what they can do for us if they get elected to the Presidency. I applaud Senator Aquino for raising the bar and I hope that Senator Villar will meet him head on. I hope this debate won’t get cancelled for any reason whatsoever because I am definitely looking forward to it.

The debate shouldn’t be for sound bites anymore. It should really be meaty and substance based versus the usual personality driven discussions that we’ve seen in the past few televised forums. You might want to read Ding’s take on what should be the discussion points.

good news! i’ve been disappointed with the lack of detail in villar’s plans. the only place i could find details on his plans is his blogwatch interview. do u know where i can find details on his plans? even his mbc speech only had 1 specific idea — i will not promise to keep tax rates the same.
i’m sure that a forum with only 2 candidates will be more useful suss out their relatively detailed plans.
1 on 1 will be ok, unfortunately both of them do not deserve the presidency. Until Villar with his slogan “C-5 at Tiaga” and Aquino’s start making action with his “Hacienda Luisita Massacre” with the farmers both is underserving to be the head of state. Aquino only made a “promise” to give away his land in the farmers in the next five 5 years, but what the farmers needs is action now. Why not give it away now. His family also made the same promises decades ago but failed miserably to deliver. They may be leading the survey due to paid celebrities like Dolphy, Willie, Sarah G. (Don’t say it was voluntary-that is just plain bull). It s job celebrities needs compensation. This are just merely another “Trapos” of Villar.
Bring in only 4 candidates instead of 4 to have a one on one debate. Do not include JC, Jamby, Eddie, Erap, Perlas. So people can see who is more deserving.
One on one will be okey. Aquino vs Villar. It’s like Pacqiao vs. Clottey.

I’d vote someone with an impressive record. soemone who made his way up even when odds are overwhelming. not someone who is still bitter that Dad died when he was 15, and the burden that he will stand as the man of the house cause he’s the single man broke him into half a man.
Sa totoo lang, kitang kita naman na mas magaling at mas may magagawa si manny villar kaysa kay noynoy eh. Pero ang mga taong bayan, Kay noynoy parin naka tingin. Bakit? dahil sa mg amagulang ni noynoy.
