Murder and Rebellion Charges to be Filed against Ampatuans

This is just a very short post. I just wanted to share what I was able to catch on ANC a few minutes ago. In an interview done by Ricky Carandang with DILG Secretary Puno, it was explained that the Ampatuans won’t have the easy way out should the Rebellion charges get dismissed in court. According to Puno, since the Rebellion happened AFTER the killings, it’s considered a separate charge and the Murder charges won’t be subsumed by Rebellion. This is one of the first rays of sunshine for this case and I’m relieved that there’s a good chance that we will actually get justice out of what happened in Maguindanao.
