National Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro is almost assured of the support of the entire administration party for his candidacy in the upcoming 2010 Presidential elections. The LAKAS national committee made a vote today after both Gibo and MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando were interviewed about their platforms and plans. According to the article on Inquirer.Net, Gibo came out strong with 42 votes (out of 47). Fernando only got 5 votes. However this isn’t final yet since they may have to get the consensus of the entire party before they decide for good.
Just some thoughts to ponder on given this latest development:
- In the latest SWS survey, Liberal Party standard bearer Senator Noynoy Aquino topped the charts at 50%. Gibo wasn’t even on the list. Does he have enough time and charisma to win over the appeal of his cousin and against Cory magic?
- Based on his interviews, Gibo is fiercely loyal to GMA and her administration. Will he turn a blind eye to GMA’s alleged crimes when he gets elected? Will he support prosecution of GMA and her allies?
- Mindanao is a treasure chest of mineral resources that the Philippines can use to spur growth. As the Defense Chief, what measures will he implement when he becomes President on how we can finally stamp out terrorism in the south and make full use of our resources?

Another thought that comes to my mind is what will MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando do? Will he bolt the party and run a campaign on his own? Or will he slide down and become the VP candidate for Gibo? If that’s the case, then how will DILG Secretary Ronnie Puno react? Interesting developments.

Sheeesh. Wishful thinking for the Administration. Whether it’s Bayani or Gibo, the administration will not win.

Let’s see kung ano magiging epekto ng pagpili ng Lakas CMD kay gibo sa susunod na nationwide survey.
Maybe this guy is just a “dummy” standard bearer. That way some people will not affiliate noli de castro with administration.
Gibo already stated in an interview on News on Q of QTV11 that he will not intervene in prosecuting PGMA and just let the proper institution of the government handle the case. And just because of that, not only will i not vote for him, i would campaign against him. I really wanna see PGMA and her family prosecuted right after she steps down as president.

Yes! I truly believe that GIBO will be a good President! At least, from the very beginning, we all know that he wanted to be president…How about Noynoy? at the start, he couldnt even decide if he wanted to run for a higher office… But because of the other trapos who convinced him, he decided now to run as president… GIBO’s credential is incomparable to Noynoy’s… President Ramos even said that GIBO is incomparably competent… I dont think GIBO will gamble his political career and his full credentials if he does not believe that GMA is one of the best presidents that the Philippines have had… The recent survey that favored Noynoy, according to Makati business club was commissioned by those who are close to Aquinos especially to Tita Cory… So, what else do we expect as a result? Let’s wait until the dominating party, Lakas-Kampi-CMD finally and officially proclaim their standard bearer after their National convention… Let’s see what will be the results of the different surveys…Will Noynoy still be on top? or will it be Gibo? Gibo for President!

I will definitely vote for GIBO, he is the only qualified presidentiable among the other trapos. He is sincere, honest and is not engaging in mudslinging campaigns. The billionaire candidate looks very fake and cowardly. Why? He did not defend himself in the Senate about his C5 corruption. What a man who claims to be coming from the poor, his family were well off already when he was young. May heaven forbids him to win. Gibo is a true leader.
