I think it’s no secret that I’m a supporter of Senator Manny Villar. With that in mind, I think the worst thing I can do as a blogger is to just shut up and not talk about any issues hounding him. However, I won’t go blindly defending him as well since that will literally just look stupid. While I have reservations as to the timing of the case being filed against him, I can’t help but wonder why can’t Senator Villar go to the Senate and fight it out with the other senators who are going after him. I’ve read the defense documents and they are pretty strong so I’m really puzzled why he won’t just go to the Senate with what he has.
I strongly agree with Congressman Satur Ocampo asking Senator Villar to defend himself in the Senate. There is really no point in just defending himself in the media and everywhere else because ultimately the arbiter of his case will be the Senate. If he continues to avoid the confrontation, I have a strong feeling that the numbers he’s gained over the past few weeks will start to slide down. Filipinos like underdogs… but to be considered as one, you have to be in the fight!
JAMBY CALLS OUT MANNY: “FACE ME MAN-TO-MAN”
To Senator Villar, lace up your boots, wear your gloves, get in the ring, and fight.

Carlo,
I respect who you support as a president as I support Senator Richard dick Gordon. Villar controversy is only the beginning. This is only a C5 project. Imagine, if Villar wins he presidency, there will be more controversy. If you consider Villar a billionaire now, he will be a billionaire in 3 folds and a powerful one. I don’t understand what kind of basis do people use of choosing a candidate? popularity? survey results? or track records of accomplishments and results? People need to wake up. Do we really need to elect an unproven leader and face another 6 years of hardships. Napag-iiwanan na tayo ng mga ibang bansa sa Asia especially Vietnam.
I admire your position on this, Carlo. Calling Manny Villar to defend himself while supporting him is a hard task to do. I guess his advisers can still make this controversy positively by allowing himself to be seen defending his position. How can he defend the nation if he can’t defend himself. If the people will see him defending good, maybe, just maybe, he can even gather more points.
I know a lot of people wants to see Villar defend himself mismo sa senate floor… pero sa nakikita ko sa kanya parang suicide naman iyon dahil simula palang guilty na siay sa mga taong nagsusulong sa kanya at ayaw ng makinig sa kanyang mga paliwanag…halos 100 interviews na ang pianunlakan niya, he even issued pamphlets, invited media people doon mismo sa C5 road and explained himself about the project… ano pa ba ang dapat niyang sabihin? si enrile, nakikita ko parang gusto lang ng publicity dahil tatakbo siya ulit as a senator..noong 2004 ang election platform niya meralco bills, ngayon cellphone rates at mga access roads, puro timing pang re-election niya… naglabas din si enrile ng press release na sinasabi niyang “here is no double entry in the 2008 budget. No attempt to commit graft.- Senator Enrile”
credible ba si enrile?
parang ang hirap naman yatang paniwalaan siya ngayon.
anyway, sana lang i-review ng mga tao ang mga pagsagot ni senator for the last 2 years na yata.. may C5 primer and you can even go to http://www.mannyvillar.com.ph at pag-aralan nila doon ang C5 issue.
I agree with your comments. It is all a matter of honor. If Manny Villar has nothing to hide, he should defend himself. True, he does not have the
flair , clarity and effectiveness of Blair and Obama in public speaking but all he needs to do is be honest and if he truly is, the public support in his favor could swell
