Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo recently shared with some members of the press that he will be supporting Senator Noynoy Aquino of the Liberal Party come the 2010 Presidential Elections. This was supposed to have been private but somehow it was leaked and it ended up being the headline for broadsheets and online publications. Following his announcement, Palace officials quickly reacted by saying that everyone in their team should support their standard bearer, Secretary Gilbert Teodoro.

When former President Cory Aquino passed away, I wrote a blog about how I felt like I didn’t actually know her at all. I only realized how much I owed her when people started talking about her sacrifices and what she’s done for the country. In the same token, I never really knew who Senator Ninoy Aquino was. All I know is that his death sparked the EDSA revolution. He was really nothing more to me than the face on the 500 peso bill.
