I couldn’t believe that I read that line on a news article published on Inquirer.Net. I’ve always been one of the biggest supporters of former Senate President Frank Drilon. That’s why it was a bit of a shock for me to read his latest statement. I’m sorry but I have to disagree with the idea that the “divine hand” of former President Aquino is campaigning for the Liberal Party. In fact, I think it’s the other way around. The Liberal Party is maximizing the mileage it can get from the magic that Tita Cory left behind when she passed away.

It looks like political parties are finally showing their cards. The Liberal Party recently announced that they’re also fielding former Senate President Frank Drilon and Muntinlupa Representative Ruffy Biazon as candidates for the Senate in 2010. They both join AKBAYAN Representative Risa Hontiveros who’s also running for Senate under the Liberal Party ticket. Don’t be surprised if more people throw in their names to the Senatorial derby.
