its really sad to realize that i only thought this only happens in the movies or elsewhere in the world and not here... not here in our country.

yes carlo, we really need to pray for our country. its high time to raise not our swords and not even our pens... but the cross of Jesus. which symbolizes ultimate love and sacrifice for us especially for those who hate Him.

2 Chronicles 7:14 states that God promised healing our land. And thru the ages God keeps His promises and His mercy endures forever!

Glory be to our God! People, change starts from one's self. SEEK GOD and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS...

take care and God bless you.

i've been following the developments of maguindanao massacre since i learned about this from day one..i was stunned, my mouth dropped, and as the news progresses i started to turn red with outrage.. but i forgot to look at my hands as you did to reflect on how a pair of hands God created could carry out such barbaric act..
the news travelled here, thanks to BBC and some of my non-filipino colleagues were asking me is that how violent your country is? i wasn't able to reply straight away,i felt shot as well..what can i say?i just flipped my hands and condemned the perpetrators hoping they won't ask further questions..
anger.that's the sentiment of everybody and as i read your blog i forgot to take a moment to pray..not just for justice to the victims but to our country for peace, love and respect..especially now the political arena is nearly open..

"THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR POLITICS"

True, Carlo. Actually, we've all been screaming this out ever since the Ondoy catastrophe happened. We've all heard several stories about how people eyeing a seat in the government has been taking advantage of such situation. It's been "me, myself and my family's benefits" first vs "me being the humble servant of the public who trusted and voted for me." Those thick-skinned creatures pissed me off at that time, but this heartless and merciless act of insanity is just plain deplorable--all for want of power. Most people running for office has developed a misguided sense of service. Where's the sincerity? Where's the conscience? Where's humility? Where's pride in saying that he or she is a public servant? It makes me sad that I feel hopeless in the current state of our political system. It feels like the election right now is not a matter of choosing the best set of people--of team--to lead the country out of its currently pitiable state; it feels like I'm choosing a lesser evil to vote, which is evil nonetheless. I wish somebody would step up. Like you, I'm about to get married. Two or three years from now, I might have a son or a daughter. And sad to say, I'm afraid to expose them to this kind of ruling. Whatever national pride I have left for my country diminishes inch by inch at each news I hear. It's hard to maintain that kind of pride when things like this far outweighs what I could be proud of.

The first thing I thought about the Maguindanao massacre was that it seemed like it was torn out a David Gemmell (British fantasy writer) book. Like in his books there are people who do horrible things because they think they can do it. He usually also shows how these people came to do these things... I've just read an article that some of the members of these Private armies where recruited at a very young age... http://pcij.org/stories/young-guns-young-terror/
In Gemmell's weave the path of LOVE is usually the hardest road to travel. Yet it's the only road that has a happy ending...
